Polynucleotides are the latest revolutionary tools in regenerative medicine that work on a cellular level to repair tissue and boost skin quality.

In the form of polymerised polynucleotide-based injectable gels, polynucleotides work by stimulating fibroblasts which encourages cell turnover, improves elasticity, boosts collagen production and hydrates skin thanks to powerful wound-healing polymers.

Polynucleotides also calm inflammation and rebalance melanocyte activity to create an even and refreshed skin tone.

As well as the face, polynucleotides can also rejuvenate the scalp, neck, décolletage, inner arms,  thighs and knees.

Each product within the brands has its own unique formula, allowing selection of the correct product to tackle concerns in every skin type.

FAQs

What are polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are natural, highly-purified DNA molecules usually extracted from the gonads of fish.

How do they work?

Cells have DNA, which is made of polynucleotides. When we inject more polynucleotides into aged and damaged skin cells, they help to regenerate tissue by stimulating fibroblasts – a type of cell that contributes to the formation of connective tissue. Essentially, we are healing skin from within.

What areas of the face can be treated ?

We can treat the whole face, neck, décolleté, or targeted small areas such as the eye area, tear trough, dark under eye circles, scars, mouth area.

Key benefits:

  • Fine lines
  • Acne scarring
  • Dark under-eye circles
  • Skin laxity
  • Poor tone and texture
  • restores radiance and freshness
  • skin revitalisation to combat general signs of ageing
  • rehydration for dull skin at any age
  • hyperpigmentation
  • rosacea
  • alopecia/hair loss

How are polynucleotides administered?

Polynucleotides are injected using a fine-gauge needle into the skin via specific techniques, depending on the area being injected.

How long does it take?

It is a very quick procedure and typically takes 10-15 mins per zone.

Is it painful?

There is some mild discomfort but this can be minimised with the use of numbing cream.

How many treatments are required?

Initial treatment consists of 3 sessions, 2-3 weeks apart, followed by 1 further treatment around every 6-9 months for optimum results.

How long do results last?

Patients can expect to see initial results after 3 weeks, which will last 6 to 9 months.

How much does it cost?

The introductory offer will be £200 per 2ml treatment.

Are there any side effects ?

Side effects are minimal, depending on the injection technique used. As with any injection, patients can expect some slight redness and swelling following treatment. No serious adverse events have been reported.

Are there any Contraindications ?

·       Pregnancy & breast-feeding

·       Current systemic infection e.g. flu

·       Those taking anticoagulant medications

·       Active skin disease e.g. acne

·       Immunosuppressant therapy

·       Fish allergy

Can I use polynucleotides alongside other treatments?

Yes, absolutely. All of our polynucleotides can be offered as a stand-alone treatment or used in combination with any other procedure.

We have seen excellent results alongside dermal filler, botulinum toxin, PRP and radiofrequency treatments.

Are polynucleotides better than skin boosters?

Polynucleotides are ‘bio-stimulants’ compared to skin boosters which are ‘super-hydrators’ & composed solely of hyaluronic acid such as Profhilo®.  That’s not to say one is any better than the other, rather they are of a different composition, and have different outcomes. Polynucleotides are recommended for tightening saggy and dehydrated skin, whereas Profhilo® is a ‘super hydrator’.

To reap the benefits of both treatments, why not try a Profhilo® treatment to hydrate and regenerate the skin, followed by PLINEST® to tighten and tone 2-3 weeks later? Or alternatively try NEWEST – our hero product that is polynucleotide combined with hyaluronic acid!

Which brand of polynucleotides does Eternally Young use?

Currently, Eternally Young uses the Plinest® range of Polynucleotides. Created by renowned Italian manufacturer Mastelli with more than 70 years of experience in research and development of polynucleotides. Mastelli has full control of the production chain and has conducted over 100 clinical studies with its trademarked High Purification Technology (PN-HPT®).  PN-HPT® are natural-origin products derived from fish intended for human consumption, obtained through a technology featuring a high degree of purification and safety; it is also recognised for its healing and regenerative properties.

There are 3 products for use on the face. They are PLINEST®, PLINEST® Eye & NEWEST®.
