What is Botox?
Muscle relaxing injections (Botox) are used to relax the muscles that when contracted create lines and wrinkles. This is a very quick treatment with no downtime and delivers predictable, subtle results so that you look like you, only with fewer facial lines. More recently, these injections are being used by younger patients as a preventative rather than a corrective treatment.
Frown lines are vertical lines between your eyebrows that are caused by frowning and can cause an angry or stressed appearance. Botox injected into the frown lines will reduce the appearance of the vertical lines in between your eyebrows.
This treatment can also help to raise your eyebrows to give you a ‘brow lift’.
Horizontal forehead lines are caused by raising your eyebrows and can create a tired or stressed appearance. Botox injected into the forehead will reduce the appearance of horizontal forehead lines.
Crow’s feet are caused by smiling, laughing or squinting and can create a tired or stressed appearance. Botox injected into your crow’s feet can help to reduce the appearance of the lines at the sides of your eyes when you smile
Downturned Corners of Mouth
Botox injections target the muscles that are overactive and pull down
the mouth corners causing a ‘sad’ appearance. This allows these muscles
to relax and the corners of the mouth are able to raise.
Dimpled Chin and Chin Crease
Overactive muscles in the chin area can cause a dimpled chin (orange
peel) and a chin crease. Botox injected into these muscles can help to
soften the appearance of a dimpled chin area.
Botox can help to relax the muscles around the upper lip so that the muscles can no longer raise the lip above your gumline when you smile. This causes your gummy smile to disappear.
Wide Jaw / Teeth Clenching
Botox can be used for 2 reasons in the jaw area (masseter muscles). Firstly, it can help to reduce the appearance of a square jaw and in turn reshape the lower face by creating a slimmer, oval shaped lower face which accentuates cheek prominence. The second reason Botox can be used in the jaw area is to improve teeth grinding/bruxism and jaw pain (TMJ pain).
Excessive Sweating / Axillary Hyperhidrosis
Botox injections into the armpits are a very effective treatment for hyperhidrosis by blocking the signal that fires the sweat glands. Effects start within the first week after treatment and last for an average of seven months before further injections are required.
Chronic Migraine (CM) is a disabling neurological disorder that affects 2% of the population. Studies have established that Botox is a safe, well-tolerated and effective treatment in the prevention of headaches associated with Chronic Migraine. Botox is injected into the forehead area, the temple area and the back of the head/neck area.
2 Week Review Appointment
Some people sometimes refer to theses appointments as ‘top-ups’. They are officially known as ‘dose correction’ appointments. It is strongly advised that all Eternally-Young customers return 2 weeks after their initial treatment for a review appointment to establish whether any dose corrections are required. If these are required, then this is carried out free of charge as included in the original price.
